U.S. COINS AND JEWELRY HISTORY
What began as a passion for rare coin collecting has grown into Houston’s most prestigious coin dealer.
U.S. Coins and Jewelry launched in 1985, primarily as a wholesale trader of rare coins in the former Sharpstown Mall and Sharpstown Center. A pioneer in the coin business, the company began as a wholesale rare coin dealer primarily focused on $20 gold pieces and generic gold. In the beginning, the company was a wholesale business that was focused on wholesale trading, and it was not open to the public. In 1997, after substantial growth, a new 12,000 square foot building was built at 8435 Katy Freeway and U.S. Coins and Jewelry began operations as a retail center for buying and selling rare coins and fine jewelry. Since the opening, people began bringing in rare coin collections that have been passed down, along with art, jewelry and watches, and so much more.
The U.S. Coins and Jewelry building is conveniently located in the heart of Houston. It’s a stand-alone building with plenty of parking out front. The location also offers security on-location consisting of off-duty Houston Police officers, individual privacy booths for sensitive transactions, plus, the staff are expert appraisers who are often called on for estate settlement and appraisal services by banks, lawyers and family will executors.
Today, this family-owned and operated business is managed by the founder’s sons and has grown to become Houston’s #1 trusted leader for buying and selling rare coins, gold and silver bullion, fine jewelry, diamonds, and luxury watches. Over the years, U.S. Coins and Jewelry has expanded to include rare documents, fine art, sports memorabilia, rare comic books along with many other unique items. However, the core philosophies have remained the same; to do business with fairness and integrity, offer value, and create a company that people trust.
